Built on the Rock: Equity Is God's Law in Practice

Standing on the Rock is a faith-centered ministry and school. Everything we teach about Equity rests on biblical principle: honor, peace, clean hands and forgiveness.

Where our faith and our teaching meet

    God's law came first

Equity is the law of conscience: fairness, honor and good faith. Those ideas did not begin in a courtroom. They were given in Scripture long before any court of Chancery was built.

    Honor, never conflict

We do not argue, fight or challenge anyone. Jesus taught us to agree with our adversary quickly. Equity works the same way: stay in honor and peace, and let the truth do the work.

Forgiveness is part of the remedy

Releasing bitterness is not only spiritual. Our students learn to settle matters with a clean heart, because Equity looks at the conscience of the one who comes before it.

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."

    Matthew 7:25

The Scriptures behind what we teach

Quotations from the King James Version.

    Matthew 7:24-25

    Founded Upon a Rock

"Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock."

The verse our name comes from. A life built on God's word stands when the storms come.

    Matthew 5:25

    Agree With Thine Adversary

"Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him."

The heart of how we approach every matter: peace and agreement instead of a fight.

    Matthew 22:21

    Render Unto Caesar

"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."

Knowing what belongs to the commercial system and what belongs to the living man before God.

    Proverbs 22:7

The Borrower Is Servant to the Lender

"The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."

Scripture names the debt system plainly. Understanding it is the first step out of servitude.

    Proverbs 22:1

    A Good Name

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches."

Your standing in Equity rests on honor. Clean hands and a good name matter more than winning.

    Matthew 6:14

    Forgiveness

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

Forgiveness is taught as a working principle, not an afterthought.

    1 Samuel 8

    The People Demanded a King

"Nay; but we will have a king over us."

How a people stepped away from God's rule, and what it cost them. History helps us find the way back.

    Revelation 18:4

    Come Out of Her

"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins."

A call to stop taking part blindly in Babylon's commercial system and walk in honor instead.

    John 8:32

The Truth Shall Make You Free

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Learning how the law truly works is how people find their remedy.

The maxims of Equity echo Scripture

    • He who seeks Equity must do Equity.

Luke 6:31: as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them.

    • He who comes into Equity must come with clean hands.

Psalm 24:3-4: who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart.

    • Equity regards as done that which ought to be done.

James 4:17: to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

    • Equity delights in Equity (equality).

Leviticus 19:15: in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
